Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell – video doorbell with two-way audio and entrance lighting

Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell is a smart video doorbell that replaces a traditional doorbell with a camera, two-way audio and integrated entrance lighting. Its very wide-angle optics with a 138° horizontal field of view let you see the entire entrance – both the visitor at the door and a parcel left on the doorstep.

The doorbell connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi and integrates directly with UniFi Protect, where recordings are stored locally on your own console without subscription fees.

The wide field of view is the doorbell's main advantage compared with a conventional camera.

The high 114° vertical field of view allows you to see both the visitor's face and the ground in front of the door in the same image – useful when a parcel has been left on the doorstep.

Video quality day and night

The camera uses a 5 MP CMOS sensor and delivers video at 1600 × 1200.

Because the unit has no network port, no network cable needs to be run to the door – however, make sure Wi-Fi coverage at the entrance is good.

Powered by the existing doorbell transformer

The doorbell is powered by a doorbell transformer, not by PoE.

Built for outdoor use at the door

The enclosure is weather-resistant for placement at an entrance.

Good to know

• This is the standard G4 Doorbell model. It has no built-in display and no separate package camera – those features are available on the larger G4 Doorbell Pro.
• The unit has no network port and does not support PoE. The PoE adapter available for G4 Doorbell Pro is therefore not compatible with this model.
• Power is supplied through a 16–24 V AC doorbell transformer. If the house does not have one, Ubiquiti's power supply is required as an accessory.
• The weather protection rating is IPX4, meaning protection against splashing water. Install the doorbell under a roof or canopy for the best service life.
• The operating temperature is −10 °C to +40 °C. An exposed north-facing façade can become colder than this during a Swedish winter.
• The unit requires a UniFi console running UniFi Protect for recording and management.
• Ubiquiti does not specify the range of the IR illumination on this model.

We recommend UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell if you already have or are planning a UniFi system and want the front door included in the same surveillance system as the rest of the property. Its main strength is the unusually high 114° vertical field of view, which allows you to see the visitor's face and a parcel on the doorstep in the same image – something conventional 16:9 cameras can miss. Keep in mind that this is the standard model: it has neither the display nor the separate package camera found on G4 Doorbell Pro, so if you want those features, the Pro model is the right choice. Also check that you have a 16–24 V AC doorbell transformer in the house; otherwise Ubiquiti's power supply is required as an accessory, and make sure Wi-Fi coverage at the entrance is stable because the unit has no network port. Remember that the doorbell requires a UniFi console with UniFi Protect for recording.
