The TP-Link Archer NX200 is a flexible 5G and 4G router for homes, offices, holiday homes and other locations where the internet connection needs to use the mobile network. Insert a nano-SIM card and create a wireless network without relying on fibre or fixed broadband.
The router combines mobile 5G connectivity with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and a combined theoretical wireless capacity of up to 1,800 Mbps. It can also be used as a conventional router through Ethernet WAN and supports EasyMesh for extending wireless coverage.

When should you choose this router?
The Archer NX200 is suitable when you need a fast internet connection through the mobile network while retaining the functions of a conventional home or office router. It is particularly useful where fibre is unavailable, where fixed-broadband installation is impractical, or where a mobile connection will be used as the primary or alternative internet solution.
The router also works well in holiday homes, temporary premises, small offices and homes where 5G coverage is strong and several devices need to be connected simultaneously.
5G internet with nano-SIM
Insert a compatible nano-SIM card to connect the router to the operator's 5G or 4G network. The theoretical 5G download speed is up to 4.67 Gbps, but actual speed depends on the operator, subscription, frequency band, distance to the base station, signal strength and mobile-network load.
The router has two connections for external mobile-network antennas. An external antenna can be useful in buildings with weak indoor signal or when the router must be placed farther from a window.
Wi-Fi 6 for many connected devices
The Archer NX200 uses dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and provides up to 574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 1,201 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. The combined advertised wireless capacity is up to 1,800 Mbps.
Support for MU-MIMO, 1024-QAM and Wi-Fi 6 makes the router suitable for households and small workplaces with several simultaneously connected phones, computers, TVs and smart devices.
Can also be used with fixed broadband
The router supports Ethernet WAN and can therefore also be used with fibre, city networks or an external modem. This makes it flexible for installations where the internet connection may change or where the mobile network is used as an alternative to a fixed connection.
The Archer NX200 has a total of three RJ45 ports with Gigabit Ethernet support. The exact WAN and LAN role of the ports may depend on the selected configuration.
EasyMesh for extended Wi-Fi coverage
With EasyMesh support, the Archer NX200 can be combined with compatible EasyMesh devices to create a more unified wireless network. This can be a better solution than a traditional repeater when a larger area or several floors need coverage.
Actual coverage depends on building materials, placement, interference, distance and the frequency bands being used.
Simple installation and administration
Initial setup is performed by inserting a nano-SIM card or connecting a network cable to the WAN port. The router can then be managed through its web interface or the TP-Link Tether app.
From the management interface you can configure the wireless network, guest networks, parental controls, DHCP, port rules, firewall and VPN functions.
Tips for the best installation and performance
- Place the router high and in the open, preferably near a window when using the mobile network.
- Avoid placing it behind TVs, inside metal cabinets or near large electrical installations.
- Check the operator's coverage and which 5G and 4G bands are used at the installation location.
- Use Ethernet for stationary devices where stability is more important than wireless freedom.
- Consider external antennas if signal strength is low or varies significantly.
- Test several locations before permanently positioning the router.
Installer experience
When installing a mobile router, placement is often more important than the theoretical maximum speed. Moving the router a few metres, changing the direction of the window or placing it higher can make a substantial difference to both signal strength and stability.
We therefore recommend testing signal and speed in several locations before completing the installation. In properties with thick walls or several floors, a separate EasyMesh system or additional access points may be required for even Wi-Fi coverage.
Good to know
Up to 4.67 Gbps over 5G and up to 1,800 Mbps over Wi-Fi are theoretical maximum values. Actual internet and network speed is normally lower and is affected by the operator, subscription, signal strength, distance, network load, client equipment and radio environment.
The router has two connections for external mobile-network antennas. The specification mentioning ten antennas refers to the product's combined internal and external antenna design and does not mean that it has ten visible or replaceable antennas.
EasyMesh support does not mean that all mesh products from other manufacturers are compatible. Check that any additional device explicitly supports EasyMesh.
When is another type of router more suitable?
A dedicated fibre router may be a better choice when the installation will always use fixed broadband and does not need mobile connectivity. For larger businesses, advanced VLAN management, central administration or a larger number of access points, a professional networking system such as TP-Link Omada or Ubiquiti UniFi may be more appropriate.
In locations with very weak mobile signal, an outdoor-mounted 5G solution or a directional antenna can provide better results than an indoor desktop router.
