Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE
Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE – 8-port Gigabit switch with four PoE+ ports
Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE (USW-Lite-8-PoE) is a compact and silent managed Layer 2 switch with eight Gigabit ports, four of which provide PoE+ with up to 30 W per port. It is an excellent fit for homes, offices, shops and smaller installations where access points, cameras or VoIP phones need both power and network connectivity over the same cable.
The switch is fully managed in UniFi Network and provides the same professional Layer 2 features as much larger UniFi switches, including VLAN, 802.1X authentication and DHCP Snooping.
Benefits
- 8 × Gigabit RJ45 ports (1G/100M/10M), 4 with PoE+
- Total PoE budget 52 W and up to 30 W per PoE+ port
- 16 Gbps switching capacity and 12 Mpps forwarding capacity
- Support for up to 1,000 VLANs and 8,000 MAC addresses
- Fanless construction – only 8 W own power consumption
- External 60 W power adapter included
Compact switch with advanced capabilities
USW-Lite-8-PoE provides advanced network features in a small format that can easily be placed on a desk or mounted on a wall.
- Dimensions 163.7 × 99.6 × 31.7 mm and weight 295 g
- Polycarbonate enclosure and mount
- Wall mounting or desktop placement
- Full integration with UniFi Network
It is an excellent choice for smaller installations where space is limited.
PoE+ for access points and cameras
Four of the eight ports support PoE+ and can deliver power directly over the network cable.
- 4 PoE+ ports according to IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at
- Up to 30 W per port
- Total PoE budget of 52 W
- PoE status and consumption per port in UniFi Network
Ideal for UniFi access points, UniFi Protect cameras, VoIP phones and IoT devices. This reduces the need for separate power adapters and simplifies installation.
High Gigabit performance
Despite its compact size, the switch provides high capacity for modern networks.
- Switching capacity: 16 Gbps
- Non-blocking throughput: 8 Gbps
- Forwarding capacity: 12 Mpps
- MAC address table: 8,000 entries
- Support for up to 1,000 VLANs
This provides stable operation even when several users and devices load the network at the same time.
Advanced Layer 2 features
USW-Lite-8-PoE includes the same professional features found in larger UniFi switches.
- VLAN management and Voice VLAN
- Port isolation and port restriction
- DHCP Snooping
- Storm Control plus multicast and broadcast rate limiting
- Port Mirroring
- LACP Link Aggregation
- STP and RSTP plus Loop Protection
- IGMP Snooping
- ACL based on MAC address and IP
- LLDP-MED
- Jumbo Frames
- 802.1X authentication
This makes it easy to build secure and well-organised networks with separate VLANs for guests, cameras and IoT devices, for example.
Full integration with UniFi Network
The switch is managed centrally through UniFi Network together with other UniFi devices.
- Central management of the entire network
- Graphical network overview and topology view
- Remote administration
- Traffic monitoring per port
- VLAN configuration
- Real-time PoE monitoring
All administration takes place from the same interface as other UniFi devices.
Silent and energy-efficient operation
USW-Lite-8-PoE uses passive cooling without fans.
- Completely silent operation with no moving parts
- Only 8 W own power consumption excluding PoE output
- Maximum 60 W including full PoE load
- Minimal heat generation
Ideal for offices, work rooms and home environments where noise levels matter.
Good to know
- Only four of the eight ports provide PoE. The other four are standard Gigabit ports without power delivery.
- The 52 W PoE budget is shared across the four PoE+ ports – add up the consumption of the devices you plan to connect.
- The switch has no SFP ports. If you need fibre connectivity, choose a switch with SFP, such as UniFi Switch 16 PoE.
- The operating temperature of −15 to +40 °C and humidity of 10–90% non-condensing mean the switch is intended for indoor use.

- External 60 W power adapter included – nothing extra is needed to get started
PC & HiFi Örebro recommends
We recommend UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE as a starting point for most smaller UniFi installations in a house, apartment or small office. Its main strength is that it provides real enterprise functionality – VLAN, 802.1X and DHCP Snooping – in a silent format that fits in a normal equipment cabinet, and the power adapter is already included. Keep in mind that only four of the eight ports provide PoE and that the 52 W budget is shared between them; if you plan to power many cameras at the same time, add up their consumption first. If you need more PoE ports or fibre connectivity via SFP, we recommend UniFi Switch 16 PoE instead.
