Ajax CombiProtect White – combined motion and glass-break detector

Ajax CombiProtect Jeweller combines a PIR motion detector and an acoustic glass-break detector in a single wireless device. By monitoring both movement in the room and the sound of breaking glass, it provides comprehensive burglary protection while reducing the number of devices on the wall and the installation time.

Motion detection reaches up to 12 metres with 88.5° horizontal coverage, while glass-break detection reaches up to 9 metres with 180° coverage. The detector provides pet immunity for animals weighing up to 20 kg and communicates through Ajax's encrypted Jeweller radio protocol with a range of up to 1,200 metres in open space.

Motion detection up to 12 metres

The built-in PIR sensor detects human movement by analysing thermal radiation.

Performance:

• Detection distance up to 12 metres at a mounting height of 2.4 metres

• Detects movement speeds from 0.3 to 2 m/s
• Three adjustable sensitivity levels

This allows the detector to be adapted to the size and intended use of the room.

Glass-break detection up to 9 metres

The built-in electret microphone analyses the sound of breaking glass and distinguishes it from normal ambient sounds.

• Minimum detectable glass area of 279 × 279 mm
• Suitable for standard, toughened, laminated, wired and insulated glass

A single CombiProtect can therefore monitor several windows in the same room.

Pet immunity

CombiProtect is designed to reduce the risk of false alarms caused by pets.

The detector can ignore:

• Animals weighing up to 20 kg
• Animals measuring up to 50 cm in height

Correct mounting height and the appropriate sensitivity setting are required.

Temperature value in the app

CombiProtect measures the processor temperature and displays the value in the Ajax app. The permitted difference between the app value and room temperature is 2 °C.

This provides:

Long range and secure communication

Ajax Jeweller technology provides fast, encrypted communication between the detector and the hub.

• Range up to 1,200 metres in open space
• Encrypted two-way communication using block encryption and a dynamic key

Walls, floors and other obstacles in the signal path reduce the range.

CombiProtect is installed without cabling and added to the system through the Ajax app.

Compatibility

CombiProtect Jeweller connects to the Ajax system through the Jeweller protocol and works with Ajax hubs and the ReX and ReX 2 range extenders.

The detector can also be used with alarm systems from other manufacturers through the Ajax ocBridge Plus or Ajax uartBridge integration modules.

Important to know

• The enclosure rating is IP50. The detector is intended for indoor installation in a dry environment.
• The approved operating temperature is −10 °C to +40 °C, with humidity up to 75%.
• Glass-break detection requires a clear acoustic path between the microphone and the glass—heavy curtains and closed doors impair performance.

Its key strength is that it covers two intrusion routes with one device. If you only need motion detection, MotionProtect is a more affordable option. In spaces with strong interference sources such as fan heaters or stoves, MotionProtect Plus with a microwave sensor is more stable.
