Ajax DoorProtect Plus White – magnetic contact with shock and tilt sensors

Ajax DoorProtect Plus Jeweller is a wireless opening detector that combines a magnetic contact with an accelerometer for shock and tilt detection. It can detect opening, impacts and vibrations, as well as changes in inclination, providing broader protection than a conventional magnetic contact. It is particularly suitable for doors, windows, skylights, garage doors and other opening structures.

DoorProtect Plus also has an input for a wired detector with a normally closed (NC) contact, allowing an existing wired sensor to be integrated into the Ajax system through the same device.

Several protection functions in one device

DoorProtect Plus Jeweller combines several security functions in a single detector.

Functions:

• Magnetic contact (reed contact) for doors and windows
• Accelerometer used as a shock sensor
• Accelerometer used as a tilt sensor
• External input for a wired NC detector
• Temperature value displayed in the Ajax app

This provides comprehensive protection without requiring several separate devices.

Monitors doors and windows

The magnetic contact detects when a door or window is opened.

Two magnets are included:

• Small magnet—works at a distance of up to 1 cm from the detector
• Large magnet—works at a distance of up to 2 cm from the detector

This makes installation flexible for different types of doors and windows.

Built-in shock sensor

The accelerometer detects impacts, shocks and vibrations and can therefore trigger an alarm before a door or window is actually opened.

The sensitivity can be set to three levels:

• Low—where known sources of false alarms exist in the protected area
• Normal—the default setting suitable for most installations
• High—where no sources of interference exist in the protected area

This provides additional protection for vulnerable entrances and windows.

Tilt sensor for skylights and garage doors

DoorProtect Plus Jeweller triggers an alarm when the device's inclination changes by more than 5°.

Functions:

• Alarm if the tilt deviates by more than 5°
• Adjustable alarm delay from 1 second to 1 minute
• The tilt sensor can be disabled in the app when it is not required
• Suitable for skylights, ventilation windows and garage doors

This makes the sensor useful on openings where a magnetic contact alone is insufficient.

External input for wired sensors

The device has a terminal for connecting a wired detector with a normally closed (NC) contact.

This makes it possible to:

• Integrate an existing wired sensor into the Ajax system
• Monitor an additional point without adding another wireless device
• Retain working equipment during an upgrade

This provides greater flexibility in both new and existing installations.

Temperature value in the app

DoorProtect Plus measures the processor temperature and displays the value in the Ajax app. The permitted difference between the app value and the room temperature is 2 °C.

This provides:

• Device status information directly in the app
• Input for automation scenarios
• An updated value when the temperature changes by at least 2 °C

Stable wireless communication

Ajax Jeweller technology provides fast, encrypted communication with the hub.

• Range up to 1,200 metres in open space
• Encrypted two-way communication
• GFSK modulation with ERP up to 20 mW
• Tamper switch that triggers an alarm if the device is opened or removed

Walls, floors and other obstacles in the signal path reduce the range.

Important to know

• The enclosure rating is IP50. The detector is intended for indoor installation in a dry environment.
• The approved operating temperature is −10 °C to +40 °C, with humidity up to 75%.
• DoorProtect Plus Jeweller is not compatible with the ocBridge Plus and uartBridge integration modules—it requires an Ajax hub.

We recommend DoorProtect Plus for the most vulnerable openings: entrance doors, patio doors, basement windows and garage doors. Its main advantage is that the shock and tilt sensors can trigger an alarm during the break-in attempt rather than only after the door has opened. Standard Ajax DoorProtect is sufficient for internal doors and windows where only opening needs to be monitored, and it also provides longer battery life. The IP50 enclosure is intended for dry indoor installation, and the detector requires an Ajax hub—it does not work through ocBridge Plus or uartBridge.
