Ajax GlassProtect White – wireless glass-break detector with 180° coverage

Ajax GlassProtect Jeweller is a wireless indoor glass-break detector for monitoring windows, glazed areas and glass doors. It uses an electret microphone to analyse the acoustic pattern and react to the characteristic sound of breaking glass, after which an alarm is sent immediately to the Ajax system.

With 180° horizontal coverage and a detection distance of up to 9 metres, one device can monitor several windows in the same room. GlassProtect also has an input for a wired detector with a normally closed (NC) contact and provides up to 7 years of battery life.

Input for a wired detector

GlassProtect has a terminal for connecting a wired detector with a normally closed (NC) contact.

Temperature value in the app

GlassProtect measures the processor temperature and displays the value in the Ajax app. The permitted difference between the value in the app and room temperature is 2 °C.

This makes it possible to:

• Monitor the device status directly in the app
• Use the temperature value in automation scenarios

Secure wireless communication

Ajax Jeweller technology provides stable, encrypted communication between the detector and the hub.

Walls, floors and other obstacles in the signal path reduce the range.

Compatibility

GlassProtect Jeweller connects to the Ajax system through the Jeweller protocol and works with Ajax hubs and the ReX and ReX 2 range extenders.

The detector can also be used with alarm systems from other manufacturers through the Ajax ocBridge Plus or Ajax uartBridge integration modules.

Important to know

• The enclosure rating is IP50. The detector is intended for indoor installation in a dry environment.
• The approved operating temperature is −10 °C to +40 °C, with humidity up to 75%.
• For the best performance, the microphone should face the window at an angle no greater than 90 degrees relative to the glass surface.
