Hilti HTB-2 Metal Anchor for Plasterboard – M5/M6 Toggle Bolt for Hollow Walls
The Hilti HTB-2 is a professional metal anchor for secure fixing in plasterboard and other hollow walls. Its folding metal channel provides a stable fixing behind the panel and makes it suitable for installations requiring greater strength than conventional plastic plugs.
Note: The HTB-2 has been replaced by the HTB-3 range in Hilti's current product line, but it remains relevant for existing installations and may still be available from some retailers.

When should you choose the HTB-2?
The HTB-2 is intended for hollow-wall installations where a mechanical fixing behind the panel provides greater security than a conventional expansion plug.

Metal anchor with high strength
During installation, the metal channel turns behind the wall and spreads the load across a larger area. The fixing can later be removed without the anchor falling into the wall cavity.

The HTB-2 remains a strong option for heavier plasterboard installations and for extending existing HTB-2 installations. For new work, we primarily recommend the newer HTB-3. Ensure that at least 60 mm of clear cavity is available behind the panel and observe the specified tightening torque to avoid crushing the plasterboard around the hole.
