Ubiquiti UniFi Protect UNVR Pro is a rack-mounted network video recorder for larger camera installations. With seven drive bays for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives or SSDs, a 10G SFP+ uplink and 8 GB of RAM, it handles up to 70 Full HD cameras or 24 4K cameras in the same system.

UNVR Pro runs UniFi Protect locally without subscription fees and has a built-in 1.3-inch touchscreen for status and basic management directly at the rack.

Its main strength is the seven drive bays combined with RAID protection – you can build an archive that lasts for weeks while tolerating a drive failure without losing footage. Keep in mind that drives are sold separately and that 4K cameras use significantly more space than Full HD; calculate the number of days of history you need before deciding on drive size. If you do not need seven drive bays but want the latest hardware and HDMI output for direct viewing, UNVR G2 is a more modern alternative with four bays.
