Ubiquiti UniFi Express 7 (UX7) is a compact cloud gateway with integrated WiFi 7 that combines router, firewall, VPN server, UniFi Network controller and wireless access point in a single device. With a 10 GbE WAN port, a 2.5 GbE LAN port and tri-band radios for 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz, it is designed for homes and smaller installations where you want the complete UniFi platform in a compact format.

UX7 runs UniFi Network directly on the device and can manage more than 30 UniFi devices, allowing the network to be expanded with switches and access points without a separate controller.

WiFi 7 with tri-band technology

UniFi Express 7 transmits on three bands simultaneously and uses 2 × 2 MU-MIMO (downlink and uplink) on each band.

Good to know

• UniFi Express 7 runs UniFi Network. The device does not support UniFi Protect – if you need camera surveillance in the same device, choose Cloud Gateway Max or Dream Machine Pro.
• The device has one LAN port. For more wired devices, add a UniFi switch.
• UX7 requires UniFi Network version 9.0.108 or later.
• The operating temperature of −10 to +40 °C means the device is intended for indoor use.

We recommend UniFi Express 7 if you want to get started with UniFi in a house, apartment or small office while also getting WiFi 7 and a 10-gigabit WAN port. Its main strength is that it replaces both the router and access point, while still being able to manage more than 30 UniFi devices as the network grows. Keep in mind that the device has only one LAN port – if you need to connect several wired devices, you will need a UniFi switch. If you also need camera surveillance with UniFi Protect in the same box, Cloud Gateway Max or Dream Machine Pro is a better choice because UX7 runs UniFi Network only.
