Professional toggle-bolt construction

When the anchor is inserted through the drilled hole, the metal channel opens behind the board and creates a strong counter-support. The large contact area provides high load capacity, while the two nylon straps allow the anchor to be positioned accurately before the bolt is installed.

The HTB-3 is our choice when heavy equipment must be mounted on a plasterboard wall, including large TV brackets, heavy-duty consoles and heavier speakers. Always check that there is at least 60 mm of free cavity behind the board before drilling; otherwise, the metal channel cannot open. Tighten carefully: 3 Nm is sufficient, and excessive torque can crush the plasterboard around the hole. For lighter installations such as cable trunking and access points, the HLD-3 is less expensive and normally sufficient. Recommended loads vary with the wall construction and must always be checked against Hilti's technical documentation before a safety-critical installation.
